History
Southern reckons its creation from either a establishment of Graysville Academy around Graysville, Tennessee, in 1892. A school moved to the community of Thatcher's Switch inside 1916, renaming it Collegedale.

Around 1942, Kenneth The. Wright became president of the school. When you took Wright's administration, Southern Junior College became licenced as a quartet-month institution. Renamed Southern College of Seventh-day Adventists around 1982, the school became a university in 1996. In September 9, 1996, trustees voted in the fresh title: Southern Adventist University.
